Well 4 days until Christmas, still no tree up. Think I will miss this year, need a small table top that is easy to put up. No time to enjoy the season with work. Hopefully by June we will have all the Sisters of Mercy hospitals installed. Maybe things will slow down somewhat.
Try using the top of your regular tree. That is what I have done the last two years. Just stuff a small flower pot with Styrofoam and put a PVC pipe in it to support the tree top. I add some more strands of lights, ornaments, then I add some floral picks. The picks give it an almost floral arrangement look.
